2019 Rotarian of the Year Nominations Sought
Each year, our club recognizes a Rotarian who has provided exemplary service to the club and to our community. It is that time of year again – we are now seeking nominations from our membership for our 2019 Rotarian of the Year.
So put on your thinking caps and nominate someone to be our 2019 Rotarian of the Year. To do so, complete a nomination form available at meetings or use this link and send it to Immediate Past President Mark Anderson (marka@mbaesq.com) or to the Rotary 8 Office (clubadmin@rotary8.org). (The fine print: Past Rotarians of the Year, the current President, and Past Presidents are not eligible for selection as Rotarian of the Year.)
Please submit any nominations no later than the close of business Friday, March 29 (after that, we’re all getting ready for the next night’s big event – the Mission Possible Auction!). The Past Presidents will meet immediately following the Rotary meeting on Thursday, April 18 to go over all the nominations and select the next worthy recipient of this prestigious award.
The recipient of this year’s Rotarian of the Year award will be honored at our lunch meeting on Thursday, May 16, where he or she will receive a Paul Harris Fellowship and tremendous adulation, followed by thundering applause, all in recognition of their outstanding service. That evening, they will also be treated to a first-rate dinner in the company of Past Rotarians of the Year.
Although many are deserving, only one can be honored as our Rotarian of the Year. Please take the time to nominate our club’s most commendable Rotarian.
HABITAT DEDICATION MARCH 9
After an amazingly successful auction to fund the house, many months with work parties and yummy food to give the crews energy, the day arrived and hearts were warmed to know that once again our club has had an incredible impact in our community.
EFN BREAK BAG PACK
The next opportunity to volunteer will be on March 23 from 12-230 and then another repack on April 6. Sign up sheets will be at the meeting on 3-21 or contact Gil Quante or Jim Whitacre with questions.

Time to make those reservations!
You should have received your invitations by now and we hope that you have 9 friends to join you to fill a table. Our goal is to have a room full of generous Rotarians and their friends who will join together to enjoy good company and purchase amazing items. The party will be great ! Bellarmine Thursday at 5
We had another great gathering enjoying the social time with one another and learning more about the mission of Bellarmine. We had a special treat hearing from one of their alumni our own John Gaines, who let us know that he recently received his Doctorate Degree. We also enjoyed watching some of our members complete some tasks in a virtual reality kitchen. Congratulations John and thanks to Dean Hanks and Rob Modarelli for hosting us.
