First Tee - Teaching Kids to Golf

Steve O’Brien, President of Puget Sound Beverage, and a member of the board of First Tee will share information about how they are supporting youth in our community.

The First Tee is an international youth development organization that uses golf as a vehicle to develop in young people the positive values inherent in the game. The mission of First Tee is to impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values, and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.

There are nine core values that are constantly promoted throughout all of the classes.  These are: honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, courtesy, and judgement.

Classes are conducted at thousands of courses around the world, including at many of our local courses and are broken out by the skill and age of the student. Each student will progress through the classes as they develop their skills.
